Common Questions We Get From Drivers
What's The Pay Like?
Our base rate is $0.62 per mile, plus an additional $0.02 per mile for all touch-freight loads. We also pay $20 per delivery and $50 per jobsite delivery. On top of that, we offer breakdown pay, layover pay, and other additional compensation. When you factor in all of these opportunities, it comes out to about $0.72 per mile.
What Type Of Freight Do We Haul?
We primarily specialize in hauling windows, doors, and furniture, but we’ve transported a wide variety of products over the years - even pumpkins! If it can fit in a dry van trailer, chances are we can haul it.
What Is The Schedule Like?
It’s really up to you! We don’t set specific delivery times for our drivers. Instead, drivers are responsible for contacting each customer to let them know when they’ll arrive and coordinating a delivery time that works for everyone. This gives our drivers a lot of flexibility and control over their schedules. Most of our drivers typically run for 2–3 weeks at a time.
What Type of Trucks Do We Have?
Our fleet includes Peterbilt 579s, Kenworth T680s, and Freightliner Cascadias. The vast majority of our trucks are automatic, with only a small number of manual transmissions in the fleet. Our trucks are equipped with the comforts and conveniences you need for life on the road, including power inverters, APUs, refrigerators, microwaves, and more. We want our drivers to have a comfortable setup whether they’re out for a few days or a couple of weeks at a time.

How Much Experience Do I Need?
We only require one year of driving experience to join the Rands Trucking team. If you’ve got your Class A CDL and at least a year behind the wheel, you may be ready to get started with us!
